Angelina Santiago

Teacher Angelina Santiago has been a teacher for over 20 years. She participated in our program (Brazil/Canada Project for Professional development) in 2006 and 2007.She has also been volunteered in the project. She is passionate about teaching. She once told me she “loves teaching specially working with teenagers”. She plays the accordion and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is one of the sweetest person we could ever meet.

 

 

 

Her work

This activity was held with Junior high students at Unidade Escolar Joca Vieira. Her goal was to use literature to teach language and culture. The students work in groups. They were very excited to participate and worked really hard to do a good job. Their work was presented at the annual school exhibit called Feira de Ciencias. They made posters with pictures telling the story of Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift and answered viewers' questions on the book.
